MERCEDES-AMG UNVEILS C63 EDITION 507 FOR AUSTRALIA

When it arrived last year, the Edition 507 marked the end of the previous-gen C63 AMG. However the Mercedes-AMG Performance Studio has just released pics of another variant exclusively for the Australian market.Distinguishing it from the “stock” Edition 507 are AMG Sport Stripes, the first vehicle to receive this treatment. Red accents appear inside and out, notably on the front lip spoiler, rear spoiler, and mirror caps, while the alloys are finished in red and gray.Inside, a two-two red and white cabin is swathed in leather and comes with sports seats and custom floor mats. As its name suggests, the car has 507 horsepower thanks to technology from the SLS AMG being incorporated into upgrading its 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine. Internals borrowed from the SLS supercar include forged pistons, connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft, which make for a 3 kg weight saving. A new ECU and titanium-grey painted variable intake manifold represent other engine upgrades. The result of squeezing an additional 56 hp (and 7 pound-feet of torque) from the V8 is a 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds and top speed electronically-limited to 174 mph.
