FERRARI'S NEW 458 SPECIALE APERTA UNVEILED

After some leaked images, Ferrari has now officially announced the 458 Speciale A (Aperta, meaning open). Set to debut at the Paris Motor Show next month, the 458 Special A may turn out to be the last new naturally aspirated mid-engined Ferrari. The turbocharging era has already begun. The 458 Speciale A is limited to just 499 examples and is the most powerful drop top in Ferrari history. The aluminum roof deploys and retracts in just 14 seconds, and only nets a 110 lbs (50kg) weight gain compared to its coupe sibling. The 458 Speciale A is equipped with that lovely naturally-aspirated 4.5-liter, 597-hp V8 engine, pulling 0-62 mph in just 3 seconds, and 124 mph in 9.5 seconds. The particular 458 Speciale A that'll be displayed at Paris (pictured here) will feature a triple-layer yellow exterior paint job with a Blu Nart and Bianco Avus central stripe, sporting five-spoke forged wheels in Grigio Corsa. The interior, of course, is gorgeous, featuring plenty of carbon fiber, Alcantara-wrapped seats, 3D stitching and 3D technical fabric. Ferrari also notes that a series of innovative bodywork solutions have gone into this car, making it the "most aerodynamically efficient" Ferrari spider ever. Official pricing has yet been announced.
