2015 GMC YUKON DENALI / DENALI XL GETS EIGHT-SPEED AUTO, WI-FI, AND OTHER MOD-CONS

GMC has unveiled upgrades to its new 2015 Yukon Denali line, the most significant of which is the pairing of a new eight-speed automatic to the big SUV’s 6.2-liter V8. The new tranny will help the Yukon Denali better access the thick end of its 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, while its lower 3.23:1 rear-axle ratio improves fuel economy. RWD Denali and Denali XL models get an extra mile-per-gallon on the highway, going from 15/21 to 15/22 mpg, while the carmaker insists it will also provide quicker shift times.
In addition, the 2015 GMC Denalis receives 4G LTE WiFi and wireless smartphone charging, a hands-free power liftgate, and an upgraded Intellilink infotainment system. All GM trucks with the 6.2-liter powerplant now come with the eight-speed auto as standard. Denalis will arrive at dealerships with the same tranny soon. The 2015 Yukon Denali starts from $64,965; the XL Denali from $67,665.
