HOW FAST? CORVETTE Z06 SPRINTS TO 60 MPH IN LESS THAN 3 SECS

We knew it was going to be fast. But with a 0-60 mph time of 2.95 seconds, the 2015 Corvette Z06 can now be considered a bona fide supercar. Chevrolet has finally announced the performance figures to back up the model’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 output of 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. The sub-three-second sprint to sixty time is joined by a 10.95-second quarter-mile, both of which happen when equipped with the optional eight-speed automatic transmission. With the seven-speed manual those times are lengthened to 3.2 and 11.2 seconds respectively. Chevy also revealed the Z06 will come to a complete stop from 60 mph in just 99.6 feet, claiming it has the "best braking performance of any production car GM has ever tested," while lateral acceleration is an impressive 1.2g.Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter said “The defining aspect of driving the Z06 is seamless integration of power, technology and aerodynamics. As a result, the Z06 delivers ferocious acceleration, tenacious handling, and high-speed stability that few cars can match.”
