APPROVED: AUDI'S R10 WILL BOAST NEARLY 1000 HP

According to a report in Germany's Auto Motor & Sport, Audi has finally approved its high-performance, Le Mans-inspired hypercar for production. This car, which is already being dubbed the "Porsche 918 Spyder killer," will reportedly feature a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and fit in above the R8 in terms of size and power. According to current rumors, the car should feature a 6.0-liter, twin-turbo V10 developing nearly 850 horsepower. A hybrid version could push the combined output to nearly 1000 hp.

The production of this car will obviously be carried out in very limited numbers and is expected to begin in 2016. Until further news is available, we'll have to make do with some speculative renderings of what this car will look like courtesy of David Cava and Radovan Varicak.
